1) What kind of material is TURF IN A BOTTLE ( TIAB ) ?
Turf in a Bottle is a highly concentrated water-based paint, dye. It is non-flammable and non-toxic. As with any chemical compounds, care and personal hygiene procedures must be followed to avoid any problems. Avoid excessive contact with skin, wear gloves, avoid contact with eyes, wear safety glasses during handling and application. In its concentrated form TIAB will stain big time, that's what it is designed for. It is also designed to be thinned with at least 10 parts of water when used. It is for all practical purposes non-toxic in these levels but still caution had to be observed. This product is very durable and will not wash away once dry. You must cover curbs, driveway, plants and other objects that you do not want to stain otherwise once dry it is hard to remove. Clean up with soap and water before it dries. On grass it gives a lush healthy green look. It is water proof, wear resistance and will last for months unless grass starts to grow and is mowed.
***************
What kind of containers does it come in ?
It is packaged in Quart cans, Gallon Jugs, 5 Gallon buckets and 55 gallon drums.
***************
What is the dilution Ratio ?
It is a highly concentrated product. We recommend thinning with at least 10 parts to 15 parts of water. The less amount of water you use to thin the darker the green tint and better the hiding power. The preference is yours. We have seen customers who use 10 parts of water and some 15 parts of water. Basically it amounts to using half a pint of the concentrate to make one gallon of thinned material or one gallon will make 11 to 16 gallons of finished green dye that is to be applied on the dormant, brown grass.
*************
What is coverage ?
It varies on how much you have thinned the concentrate. The more water you use to thin the weaker it will be in hiding power. The more brown your grass is the more TIAB you will need to cover it. As an average we have found that when thinned with about 10 parts of water the diluted product will cover an average of 250 square feet. To summarize, thin the concentrate with 10 parts of water and spray using conventional spray equipment to cover average of 250 square feet per gallon of the thinned product. One Gallon of concentrate will cover an average of 4000 square feet.
*************
How is it applied ?
You can use a pump up garden sprayer that is easily available from any hardware store. There are many models and kinds to choose from, but all can do a good job. As a precaution, make sure you wear gloves and safety glasses when handling the material and spraying. Use care during the thinning and pouring of the material. Make sure you are familiar with the operation of your pump up sprayer. Contractors and for use on a high coverage areas airless sprayers or boom sprayers can be used. Feel free to call us, we can recommend the correct sprayer for your use. Make sure to rinse with water and clean up all tools after application or TIAB could clog up the tips when dry.
*************
How long will it last ?
It is a strong paint. It dries to a very durable film. It is waterproof. It does not fade or wash away from the grass surface. It will tend to disappear as the grass grows and is mowed.
*************
Will it Kill the grass ?
The reason you are applying is because the grass is dead or stressed. This product will not adversely affect the grass anymore than the trouble it is now. It will not prevent the grass from growing back on its own.

CAUTIONS :-
Make sure to wear old shoes and clothing since it is a good possibility you will get some of the product and it. Once dry it is hard to remove.
Be careful on a windy day. As with any spray application paint droplets can travel a significant distance in a strong wind. You do not want to paint your driveway, curbs, pets, etc. Cover the objects you do not need the green stain on.
Keep used containers and even unopened containers properly stored and away from the reach of children.
Make sure you rinse and clean your tools and applicators after use. This product will not only stain and be hard to remove once dry but can clog up spray equipment if left to dry.
As mentioned above, cover everything and anything where you could possibly spray this product other than your target area " dead grass ". Even in diluted form it will stain permanently once dry. You can easily rinse out areas with just water or soap and water, before the paint is completely dry.
